A Few Words About Us

Jones Heritage Farm LLC's Beginnings in 1897

We are proud and honored to be farming on an Ohio Historic Family Century Farm, farming on family land since 1897. Although historically, the farm has produced many agricultural commodities over the years from dairy and beef cattle, to swine, sorghum, vineyards and orchards, the farm is now dedicated to raising sheep. Our Registered St. Croix and unregistered crosses, are the driving-force of our farm and we take great care to ensure that we’re humanely and lovingly raising quality, animals to go to new farms and tables.

Our Land Policy

On our farm, the land isn’t just a resource; it’s a living partner that sustains us. We recognize that the soil, the grass, and the natural cycles that thrive here have been shaped over centuries, and it’s our responsibility to care for them. By practicing sustainable farming methods, preserving the health of our pastures, and nurturing the balance of nature, we ensure that future generations will inherit a farm that remains as rich and vibrant as the one we tend to today. Each decision we make, from grazing rotations to land conservation, reflects our deep respect for the land’s enduring role in supporting not just our sheep, but our community and the generations yet to come.

We prioritize their well-being by providing them with plenty of space to roam, graze on lush pastures, and enjoy a stress-free environment. Our flock is mainly grass-fed and is given plenty of attention. We focus on creating a peaceful living environment where our sheep can thrive and live their best lives, regardless of their end product. Every step of our farming practices are designed with their comfort and happiness in mind, and we are deeply committed to their welfare, knowing that happy sheep are the foundation of a healthy, sustainable operation.
